These terms govern your use of Travel Chatter (the "app"), on Android and as a web app. By using the app, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Who we are

Travel Chatter is made by DPB Creative. Questions about these terms can be sent to studio@dpbcreative.com.

Translations may be wrong

Auto-translate is powered by Google's Gemini API. Machine-generated translations can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for context. Don't rely on them for medical, legal, safety-critical, or other high-stakes communication - for anything where a wrong translation could cause harm, use a professional translator or interpreter instead. You're responsible for how you use any translation the app provides.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app to submit unlawful, abusive, or harmful content for translation, and not to attempt to circumvent rate limits, abuse the sharing feature, or otherwise misuse the service. Your use of auto-translate is also subject to Google's own usage policies for the underlying Gemini API. We may rate-limit, restrict, or block access to these network features (without affecting the app's offline functionality) if we reasonably believe they're being misused.

Your content

The phrases, translations, and lists you create, import, or share remain yours. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to import or share any content you put into the app, including via CSV import or share links.

Purchases

If the app offers anything for purchase, that purchase is processed by Google Play and subject to Google Play's own payment and refund policies, not a separate policy of ours. If you're in the UK or EU, this doesn't affect your statutory consumer rights around digital content, which these terms don't limit.

Service availability

The app works offline for browsing, editing, and organizing your phrasebook. Features that depend on our server (auto-translate, share links) rely on a third-party API and may be changed, limited, or discontinued at any time, including without notice - for example if the underlying provider changes its pricing or terms.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DPB Creative is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including reliance on a translation. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms occasionally to reflect changes in the app. The "last updated" date above will change whenever it does. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
